A voice of one of Matt's best friends called out over the noise of the small classroom, "How was your summer?" A slender, dark-haired girl was making her way towards his desk, she was grinning and had her wavey hair pulled back by a solitary light blue band. Ashlin and Matt had spent all thier time together when they were younger and then they started dating when they got older. After a few years they became 'just friends', and Matt and Ash just saw each other in the great hall at meals. But this year, Matt and Ashlin had at least five classes together and were becoming close again; as close as Ashlin allowed with her boyfriend. Matt and Ash talked as the teacher came in, she, sitting on the edge of his desk and Matt, at his desk. After the teacher got orginized, Professor Suttle called everyone to thier seats. Ash flashed Matt a quick smile before trailing to her seat next to her boyfriend Luke. As the teacher introduced himself and took rollcall, Matt stacked his books and lay them in order in front of him. After a few moments the door next to Prof. Suttle opened and a single student peeked in, he/she was late and quickly glanced around to find a place to sit. Matt glanced around too, and saw that the only open seat was next to him, he smiled inwardly to himself and moved his books to his side of the desk, allowing room for the newbie to sit.[/blockquote][/ul]

. He pushed the door from its frame and stuck his head round the corner. The Professor was taking the register so he had time to scout out a seat before actually going inside. He spotted one next to a Ravenclaw who seemed to have more books with him for this one subject then Zac did for his entire year. He wandered into the classroom stooped slightly as if this would help him go unseen and muttered an apologetic “Sorry” to the professor. Slipping into the seat next to the Ravenclaw Zac flashed him a small smile and pulled his parchment from his bag. status – complete for – matthew avery word count - 274 [/ul][/blockquote]

when called and then listened quietly as the teacher rolled over the last of the names. After a few moments of the teacher's welcoming speech, a student opened the door a fraction. He was breathing a little faster then someone who had walked to class, he looked a little rumpled also. He muttered a quiet, "Sorry," and then looked around the room for a vacant seat. I glanced around also, seeing who he'd sit next to and noticed, with a slight ironic inward grin, that my desk was the only one with space. I gathered up my books and various scrolls and quickly dumped them into my open bag, slouching besides my chair. And then straightened up to find the boy preparing to sit beside me. I looked the boy over from the corner of my eye, he looked about my age and had brown hair and green eyes. He was a Gryffindor, so obviously displayed by jaunty badge and red and gold tie hanging around his neck. He looked nice, and Gryffindors weren't as evil and snide as Slytherins. When I looked over at him again, he flashed me a quick smile. I grinned back at him, and suddenly recognized him as Zac Longbottom, friends of the Potters and Weasleys. The professor was talking on and on in a steady, even, monotone. It hurt my ears to listen to such talk. When I thought the professor was engaged in his own talk I looked over at my neighbor and said, in a hushed whisper, "I'm Matt, you're Zac Longbottom aren't you?" comments;; finished words;; 350 tagged;; zac longbottom[/ul][/blockquote]

he muttered at his book as though it had placed the sweet there of its own accord before picking it from between the pages and dropping it into his school bag to sit with other lost items at the bottom. Unrolling his parchment Zac preceded to note down certain sentences the Professor relayed to them if they seemed of any importance, inbetween which Zac stared round the classroom, thought about Quidditch plays and doodled a large ‘Z’ in the top left hand corner of his page. "I'm Matt, you're Zac Longbottom aren't you?" Zac looked up from his latest little sketch and towards Matt, he smiled slightly “Yeah I am” he nodded slightly as he replied in the same low whisper “Avery isn’t it? Your in the same house as Dominique Weasley” status – complete for – matthew avery word count - 281 [/ul][/blockquote]
