Greetings to those who still have managed to keep your wireless radios in tact. As you know, this, of course, Is "The Vigilant Light". As usual, I must apologize for my extended delay in broadcast, however keeping both my identity and location well hidden is all too necessary, in this time of fear and uncertainty. I wish the news I've come to bring you tonight was of hope or good fortune, yet sadly what I have to say is quite unsettling and I urge those who are faint of heart to listen with the up most caution. Today marks the day we have all feared since the rise of Lord Lutheran Demogorgon. The day the light of our faith being extinguished with the passing of our beloved hero. The man once known as our 'beacon of hope', the one who triumphed in the face of evil again and again, had been found murdered last night, like so many in our beloved magical community, by the ones we call the immortal armageddon, as if one falls, another is quick to take their place, making them an unstoppable army of evil. The body of Mr. Potter was never found, yet his decapitated head stood mounted upon a stake in the center of Hogsmede Village as a grim omen of what lies in store for the fate of our civilization. Listen when I tell you, dear listeners, that my heart aches alongside yours. Terror consumes my every nerve and my only wish is that I could bring you words of comfort.. though it seems I can no longer do so, without a warrior standing up for our world anymore. Bravery has become a thing of the past, as demented followers of Lord Demogorgon fill our streets with hearts full of torturous murder.
I look around at our world and can only weep at what it has become. Our homes and villages that we once held dear, have been reduced to ashes, or hollow broken down shells that had once been filled with loving families or jovial consumers.. now lay abandoned and nailed shut with planks of rotting wooden boards. Our streets that were once roamed free, lie paved in blood as the frequent remains of more lost souls litter the dusty cobbles like something out of a nightmare. What has our world come to, when civilians are too afraid to come out of hiding, to so much as claim and bury their dead? Where screams fill the air as often as clock tower chimes.. What has our world come to, when civilians who were once thought to have an open mind, have outcasted those who bare the name "half-breed" or posses any sort of other magical ability that might mark them different from any 'normal' witch or wizard, out of failure to trust anyone who might be considered 'different'. Are we any less cruel, by sending these people, who's hearts still remain human, to fend for themselves in the dangerous streets of our wizarding world, were countless killings are taking place?
It has been sixteen years since the fall of Lord Voldermort and I find myself within the unsettling conclusion that we were all better off under his twisted rule. Again I ask what is to become of us all, without the aid of any great wizard such as Albus Dumbledore whom dark wizards once feared above all others, or the great Harry Potter who once triumphed over all that threated the sake of our civilization. Who will be our hero now? Who will save us from the impending clutches of doom that now consumes all we've ever known? Hogwarts castle and the ministry of magic, still remain the safest places we known.. but for how long? How long will the frightened staff of teaches be willing to teach it's students the necessary knowledge to defends themselves? How long with the ministry still try to defend us, when their every effort now seems in vain?
I do not know when or if I will be broadcasting to you again, dear listeners. All I can say for now, is that I wish you and your loved ones the greatest of Merlin's grace. Remember that a brave and powerful wizard once said "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." That man being Albus Dumbledor himself. Things seem bad, dear listeners, this I know... but we must remain strong, for if there is a chance of survival left among us, we must be prepared to take it. I give you my love and support until the very end, and one way or another we will all reach peace.
This is The Vigilant Light signing off.
