x x --------------------------------------------- Should I be going outside this late?Rose could not sleep at all that night. She had been in bed for three hours. Looking at the clock she realized that it was six minutes to midnight. She gave up listening to the others sleep in her dorm. Getting dressed in jeans and whatever shirt she came upon in the darkness she walked out of the Dorm room quitely so she won't desturb their sleep. But before she left she grabbed her wand and put it into her back pocket. Putting her long brown hair into a ponytail she had desended the stairs into the common Room. One place she thought she could find someway to get tired. She sat there for five minutes. The common room was still quite warm from the fire that was now was out. She smiled and wished there was a fire again.
Deciding that she was bored she left the saftely of the common room and into a rule breaking area. She was out of her common room after curfew. Of course also being a Weasley sure had some perks but this wasn't not it. She had been caught before and had recieved a detention and lost five points for her midnight strolls. Like now for example she was out pass curfew but didn't really care. Brushing her bangs out of the way she quitely made her was down the corridor. She didn't have a light and then remembered that she had her wand. "Lumos!" she said as the tip of her wand lit up. "Much better." she said with a smile on her face.
While she was walking she was remembering her favorite Lullabye that her mother used to sing her to sleep when she was little. She smiled at the thought and wondered how long it would be again that she will get to see her again. That shopping trip she had with her mother was quite fun. And she had sang the song then too. She started humming 'Once Upon A December' as she walked once again. She love the song so much she decided she was going to sing the song.
"Dancing bears, Painted wings, Things I almost remember, And a song someone sings, Once upon a December
Someone holds me safe and warm, Horses prance through a silver storm, Figures dancing gracefully across my memory...
(Instrumental interlude)
Someone holds me safe and warm, Horses prance through a silver storm, Figures dancing gracefully across my memory...
Far away, long ago Glowing dim as an ember, Things my heart used to know, Things it yearns to remember.
And a song someone sings, Once upon a December Night"
While she was singing the song she kept walking around trying to see everything at once. She also began to wonder if something was going to happen but decided to ignore that particular feeling. She kept walking and singing and was amazed that no one stopped her yet. Continuing her way she had no clue to exactly where she was walking. In fact she did not see a person standing in front of her. She walked right into the person just as she finished the song. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to walk into you!" she said backing up.

Jason Evans! 'Just up a tad later than usual...' Jason looked at the watch on his wrist, it was just reaching 12 O'clock. Jason was never usually up this late, or at times when he was he was busy stirring up trouble in the Girl's dorms. This was the first and the most likely last time he was going to sneak down to the Pantry to try and get something to eat, I mean if he got caught he would be in more trouble than getting detained every night for a week. Jason had an especially bad feeling about this, though, the friend he had tagged along was a supposed 'ninja-like being to himself'. But to everyone else he was clumsy, loud and annoying.
Jason could hear the sounds of pans, shouting and cursing from his friend and all sorts of stuff falling over and smashing. Jason flinched as the sounds got louder and wondered whether to go in and check to make sure that his friend was ok, but decided against it, after all the House Elves in there got pissed easily and if they saw two students up past cerfew hours then that might just push them off the edge, and no one wanted that. The crashes and smashes were getting louder and Jason sighed glancing around nervously to check if a teacher, or worse, was coming down this hall to investigate the loud noises. Also Jason would be in even more trouble as he wasn't wearing his robe, well he refused to wear his robe at all during the day, which was why the teachers didn't like him so much.
After a few more crashes and loud noises from the Pantry Jason decided to have a look around. Although Jason had been down these halls many a time, he hadn't taken the room into perspective as much as one should and he figured now would be the best time to make up for that and he slid his hands into his pockets before setting off to look around. After glancing at a few paintings he realised he was quite a way away from the Pantry now, it didn't bother him, his friend did know the way back to the Dorm after all and Jason would go back in his own time.
Continuing to worm his way silently through the hallways a certain painting caught Jason's eye and he decide to investigate it. It was a beautifully painted Phoenix painted on a huge canvas, the Phoenix looked to be carrying the Sorting hat with something silvery shimmering in it, Jason didn't know the story behind this but he was at awe with the painting. After a moment the Phoenix, just like all the other paintings began to move, like it was flying it's feathers even began to get the firey texture.
Jason began to run his fingers along each fine line of the Phoenix and went into a sort of day dream which was bruptly awoken by someone singing a tune then someone walking into the side of him, almost knocking him clear off his feet. Jason swirled around to see a young-ish girl stood there. "Oh sorry I didn't mean to walk into you!" He heard the girl say Jason shook his head and brushed his arm off a little "No, its Ok the fault was all mine, I shouldn't have been stood in the middle of the Corridor gawking at some painting.
It then hit Jason, "What was someone as young as her doing down this late, and if she's a Gryffindor I should really let her have it" Jason thought to himself. "What are you doing up this late huh?" Jason said in the nicest way possible to the girl, after all he didn't want to scare a possible first year that was probably just getting farmilliar with the corridors and classes. But then what did he care? She wasn't a Slytherin which is only what Jason concerned himself with at the moment.

Rose looked at the guy for a moment. She decided she might as well answer his question for she thought it was an reasonable question to ask. "Well I couldn't-" she started to say and then she had a question for him too. "Why are you doing if I may ask myself?" she said in midsentence. She then decided to finish her answer his question for a moment. "I myself can't sleep at the present moment." she said looking right at him wondering if he was a Slytherin or not. And then spying his clothes she realized that he was indeed a Slytherin.
"I thought I've seen you around this school!" she said for after a moment taking a step back so they weren't so close. "I have seen you for two years around here." she said with a small curious look. "But I haven't the foggiest your name is." she said as she turned towards the window. It was quite dark outside and she wasn't really liking it. Of course her brother had installed her that all Slytherins weren't nice people but as soon as she met one of her friends she thought that not all Slytherins were bad as they seem. She just wasn't sure of this one.
Standing there waiting for him to answer she looked out the window looking out the window. It looked like it looked interesting how dark it was. Walking towards the window she smiled a bit. How dark it was outside had her mysitified and then she wondered how could something so dark look so interesting and beautiful at the same time. She knew of course if her brother had found out that she went for a midnight stroll he probably would kill her. But of course again she didn't care. Then she snapped out of it. She turned back to the boy and frowned a bit. "My name is Rose Weasley by the way." she said with a small smile. "I've realized you probably didn't know my name either." she said with a hint of a smile this time.

Jason Evans! 'Just up a tad later than usual...' Jason waited and listened intently for the young girls reply, only having it cut short and filled in by the same question he asked to her. Jason tried to think up an excuse "Well me and a friend just came down here to go and see a friend in another house, you know we found something of their's." Jason knew this was a weak excuse but it was the only one he could think of this late at night, also he had a feeling that if he told the girl that he was REALLY raiding the kitches she might go and tell a teacher on him which would most likely knock him down a couple of notches. He realised that he didn't know what house the girl was from, then noticed that she looked alot like the Weasley's. "Gryffindor." Was the first house he thought of.
He heard her mention that she had seen him around school and Jason just shrugged, "Lots of people have seen me around school" and he watched her carefully as she took a step back "What was she doing" he thought. Maybe she had figured out that he was a Slytherin and that had put her off a little. That was enough proof that she was from Gryffindor. Then he realized that she, in her own way asked him what his name was "Uh, Im Jason. Jason Evans" he replied. He knew that Gryffindor's weren't keen on Slytherin's and vice versa, this was a very true stereotype it even counted in Jason, so he knew he would have to be careful.
Jason noticed that the girl had turned her attention to the window, it seemed the sky had turned a colour darker than black, it was mystifying, even for Jason. Before Jason knew it the girl had wandered off to the window, which was when he took another look at the Phoenix painting as it cooed for attention and he traced the feathers with his fingers lightly again as he was doing before he got interupted. Jason heard the Girl's voice from behind him and took in her name "Rose Weasley huh?" he repeated in his mind before turning back to her to see her smiling at him, which made Jason crack a smile back to Rose.
Jason decided the Phoenix Painting had gotten enough attention off him and walked over to the window, adjusting his tie on the way over and leaning on the glass of the window in a place where he had a clear view of the full moon. It was just outstanding. The silvery-ness of the moon on the jet black backdrop had always helped Jason get through tough times as he thought of the moon against the dark night as a sign of hope. "Nice night huh?" Jason heard himself mumble accidently in more than a whisper.

Rose looked at him for a moment. As he talked for a moment. "Really?" she asked a bit confused for a moment. "Then is where are the rest of your friends she asked him with a small frown on her face. She wondered what he was really up to now. For some reason she had a feeling that he was up to no good. She somehow couldn't believe that he would leave his friends behind and go walking on his own as they returned what ever the kid left. But she had no clue that they were in the Kitchen getting stuff.
Rose looked at him for a moment. "Yeah but I have never seen you by yourself before!" she said with a curious look now on her face for a moment. It all seemed puzzling to her at the present moment. This was a guy who seemed to be hanging out with his friends then being off on his own. Or at least it seemed that way during the day. She looked at him for a moment. "Nice name Jason." she said with a very small smile. She couldn't believe that she was actually talking to well another Slytherin.
"Yes it is a beautiful night!" she said in reply. She looked at him for a moment. Wondering if this guy was really trust worthy or not. Even though she did have a Slytherin friend but it was a female whom seemed to be nice to her and she was wondering if she was making another friend or not but wasn't going to say anything. Standing there looking back out of the window she was quite glad that she was pass curefew now.

Jason Evans! 'Just up a tad later than usual...' Jason sighed and shoved his hands deep into his pockets "Well my other friend is busy stuffing his face in the pantry, I was supposed to be looking out for him but he's too loud and he is most definitely going to get caught..." Jason's eyes stayed fixed on the somewhat hypnotic moon smiling slightly to himself.
Jason laughed at the comment of him never being alone during the day "Yeah I know they get quite annoying at times but most of the time I'm depressed and they are just there to try and cheer me up. they are good friends like that..." Jason thought for a moment " And what of you? I've seen you around school a few times but your either on your own or with a group of Gryffindor's like yourself."
Jason lay his head agains the wall so he could watch the moon slowly making its way across the black backdrop of the sky as he felt Rose's eyes not exactly staring or glaring but just glancing at him and he didn't mind at all infact his smile just widened curfew was just a time that was put forward by the teachers to give the students an idea of what time they should be going to bed around. I mean when has staying up late ever got anyone killed or hurt?
