EIGHTEEN YEARS LATER
In the year 2017, eighteen years after the fall of He-Who-Must-Not-be-Named, the wizarding world is at peace once more. Muggle borns and their allies no longer face ridicule, and purebloods are no longer afraid to marry outside of the “pure” race. Harry Potter, the resident Hogwarts Headmaster, is an international hero in the wizarding world and is sometimes fathomed to be the greatest sorcerer of all time, which he humbly denies. He is happily married to Ginny Potter, and they are the proud parents of three children: James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter.
Hermione Weasley, the Headmistress of Magic, and Ronald Weasley, Head Auror of the Department of Mysteries, are raising a family of their own. Rose and Hugo Weasley are their two children, who reside at Hogwarts alongside many cousins. Hermione has proven the most successful Headmistress to grace the wizarding world, with great potential still.
Hogwarts has been safe for eighteen years since the fall of Lord Voldemort, and it’s hard to believe that eighteen years ago the largest battle in the history of the wizarding world took place. Those who fought remember it as clearly as the day it happened- some can still hear the cries of unforgivable curses and the flashes of spectacular, intimidating green light that took the life of hundreds of wizards who were fighting for their families, their friends, and above all, their freedom. The several veterans of the battle hope that they won’t have to see another one as long as they shall live.
Their hopes could be just that- only hopes. Hogwarts may be considered the safest place in the wizarding world, but the past shows us that anything could be hiding in the dungeons, behind a tapestry, or even in the form of a sixteen year old girl.
Not even two whole years had passed from the horrid battle when Sophia Collins was born. Sophia Collins, the daughter of Atticus and Pansy Collins, granddaughter of Vanessa and Tybalt Collins, and great-granddaughter of Rosalynn Batena and Thomas Riddle.
Tom Riddle knew that if anything were to happen to him and he needed to use his seven horcruxes that he wouldn’t be able to make more out of the pieces of his soul that remained. He knew this well and conceived a child with his then most trustworthy servant, whom he killed soon after Tybalt Riddle was born. Changing his last name to Collins, he placed his son on the steps of a muggle orphanage, knowing that someday if the worst were to happen, one of his descendants would be able to take responsibility into their hands and form the empire he had, for so long, desired. Tybalt Collins was unaware of his roots to Salazar Slytherin, and to his relations to the Dark Lord, as was his only child, Atticus Collins. The Collins still had the arrogance that as long as their blood was pure, they were the elite, they were perfect. Sophia Collins was born to Atticus and Pansy Collins, and had discovered in her third year at Hogwarts her talent of being able to talk to snakes. Peculiar, she thought, and decided to do a little research on it. Within seven months she found that not only was the gift of being a parseltongue rare, it had only existed in those who descended from the family tree of Salazar Slytherin, the most famous being Lord Voldemort.
Since her third year, Sophia Collins has been rounding up followers, mostly her housemates, and is hell bent on avenging her great grandfather. She will stop at nothing to build the pure wizarding race he had always wanted, and is slowly gaining power. And although Hogwarts is safe, for now, the future could hold a battle so fierce that both veterans and students as young as fifth years will have to fight. Fight for their friends, fight for their families, and above all, fight for their freedom.
